Pepper x The Laundress Cleaning Guide

In collaboration with the fabric experts at The Laundress, we put together a foolproof care guide for our pillows and table linens using their plant-based products. Follow these simple steps to keep your home clean and fresh all year long.

I. ID STAINS AND PRETREAT

On pillow covers, pretreat oil-based stains such as makeup with the Wash & Stain Bar. Wet the bar with warm water and work into affected area. For color-rich stains like red wine or coffee, use a few drops of Stain Solution and apply to stain with a finger or soft stain brush.

II. ADD A BOOST OF CLEAN

If working with a stubborn stain on cotton, linen, or a durable synthetic, sprinkle some All-Purpose Bleach Alternative on top of the stain treatment to create a powerful paste. Brush into fabric, then allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. To better drive the formulas into the fabric, pour hot or boiling water over the affected area. Be careful to pour from a height where the water won’t splash you.

III. WASH

All of our products, except the baby Alpaca throws, can be washed by hand or machine using The Laundress’ Signature Detergent and cool to warm water. If machine washing, select a delicate cycle, low spin, and a cool or warm temperature. We always recommend placing items inside a Mesh Washing Bag to prevent snagging or stretching. If hand washing, massage the detergent into the fabric and let the item soak for about 15-30 minutes.

IV. DRY

Lay items flat to dry on a clean, dry surface such as a towel. Do not put in the dryer! We recommend reshaping the items as soon as you take them out of the washer so they dry correctly.

V. STEAM AND FRESHEN

To refresh and remove odors in between washes, steam your throw pillows and linens or spritz Fabric Fresh Classic from 6 inches away.
