Style Guide: Poppy Pink Pillow

First of all, we think that pink and red is one of the best—and most underrated—color combinations in the game. To prove our point, we styled three different rooms with three very different looks by using the bold and versatile Poppy pillow as our guide!

We dreamt up this living area to be equal parts sophisticated, warm and inviting. To amplify Poppy's bold palette, we opted for pieces that would draw out all of the colors in this print. We started with ABC Home's purple velvet Hannah sofa to highlight Poppy's subtle hints of lilac. We then chose a rich, red woven leather rug by long time favorite, Avo. To keep things from feeling crazy, we introduced some neutral colors via a cream accent chair by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, warm burl wood coffee table by Jayson Home and kabibe side table by Mecox.  This room obviously wouldn't be complete with a little pink in the mix, so—in addition to a few of our Poppy throw pillows—we added some gorgeous glass pieces with Soho Home's Juliana chandelier and a handblown vase by Paul Arnhold.  Finally, we incorporated an incredibly cool table lamp by VIT ceramics and our James throw to draw out the lamp's blue base.

Starting with the fresh, fun combo of our Poppy and Balzary throw pillows, we curated a nursery that is both chic and whimsical.  We admittedly had a Kim K moment and chose a completely over the top acrylic Vetro crib by Nursery Works. To counterbalance the Kanye-approved crib, we opted for a sweet, colorful crib sheet by Liberty of London x Madre. Next up, we emphasized the softer tones of the patterned pieces with a bluish-green velvet swivel glider by Lulu & Georgia, our James baby alpaca throw, light pink handwoven rug by One Kings Lane and a Casa Cosmina table lamp (which we found on Chairish).  Anyone with a little one knows you need a side table handy so we opted for this simple rounded inlay drum style by Anthropologie. Finally, we went with this Still Life Series collage by Hable Construction to add some life to the nursery walls.

We decided to have some fun here and create a bold boudoir worthy of Samantha Jones (gotta love a good SATC throwback).  We pulled a power move with this red velvet Brie Channel bed by Ballard Design. To balance the boldness of Brie, we chose subtle pink bedding and a deep purple washed linen throw—both by abcDNA. Add a pair of our Poppy throw pillows and this bed is fully styled! We've long been obsessed with the shape of these blush Circus poufs by Simon Legald so we incorporated a pair to live at the end of the bed. Next up, we chose this graphic rug by Jonathan Saunders because it's palette really pulls the room together. Finally, we opted for a grey raffia nightstand by Serena & Lily to draw out the neutral tones of the rug and Kelly Wearstler Linden table lamp because it's chic AF.
