Cafe Curtain FAQS

See below for what customers are asking about our cafe curtains!

What is the difference between your Custom Cafe Curtains and Custom Curtains?

Our custom cafe curtains are unlined, while our custom curtains are lined with your choice of privacy or blackout lining. Cafe curtains let in just enough light while still providing privacy, making them perfect for kitchens, dining rooms, and bathrooms. There are also a few differences in the construction of the panels:

- For rod pocket panels, the sewn-in pocket is smaller on cafe curtains to accommodate smaller rods.

- The side seam on cafe curtains is 1.25" vs. 2" on full length curtains.

- The bottom seam on cafe curtains is 1.5" vs. 4" on full length curtains.

What's the difference between unlined panels and panels with privacy lining?

Unlined panels let light filter through while privacy lining blocks 70% of light.

Are panels sold individually or as a pair?

How do I choose the correct panel length?

To figure out the appropriate length for your panel based on your preferred construction style, we recommend following the measurement guide below:

Rod Pocket with No Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and add 0.5". Round down to the nearest inch.

Rod Pocket with Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and subtract 2". Round down to the nearest inch.

Rod Pocket w/ Header: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and add 2". Round down to the nearest inch.

Double Rod w/ Header: Measure the distance between the two rods and add 5". Round down to the nearest inch.

Ring Top + Tailored Pleat with Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and subtract 2". Round down to the nearest inch.

Ring Top + Tailored Pleat with No Clips: Measure from the bottom of the rod to the window sill and subtract 0.5". Round down to the nearest inch.

Pinch Pleat with Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and subtract 2". Round down to the nearest inch.

Pinch Pleat with No Clips: Measure from the bottom of the rod to the window sill and subtract 0.5". Round down to the nearest inch.

*If you add trim to your panels, we recommend subtracting 1” from the length measurement.
