Section 04: Measure Your Length

Length Guide:

Cafe curtains should land just above the window sill. Keep in mind that hanging your panels with rings or rings with clips will change your measurements.

Depending on your desired curtain construction, you will need to measure one of three things: from the top of the rod to the window sill, from the bottom of rod to the window sill, or the distance between the rods.

To  Find Your Panel Length:

  • Rod Pocket with No Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and add 0.5". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Rod Pocket with Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and subtract 2". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Rod Pocket w/ Header: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and add 2". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Double Rod w/ Header: Measure the distance between the two rods and add 5". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Ring Top + Tailored Pleat with Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and subtract 2". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Ring Top + Tailored Pleat with No Clips: Measure from the bottom of the rod to the window sill and subtract 0.5". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Pinch Pleat with Clips: Measure from the top of the rod to the window sill and subtract 2". Round down to the nearest inch.
  • Pinch Pleat with No Clips: Measure from the ;bottom of the rod to the window sill and subtract 0.5". Round down to the nearest inch.

*If you add trim to your panels, we recommend subtracting 1” from the length measurement.
