Curtain Training 101

Curtain training is a great way to make sure your panels fall correctly for a perfectly polished look. Follow along for a step-by-step guide on how to train your curtains!

Step 1: Hang and Steam

Hang your curtains immediately after receiving them so gravity can do its thing on wrinkles. Steam the panels (unless they're velvet) to remove any remaining creases.

Step 2: Gather the Pleats

Starting from the top, gather the pleats together, neatly folding the fabric the way you want it to fall.

Step 3: Secure the Pleats

Use tape or a ribbon to tie the pleats together (not too tight) about 1/3 of the way down from the top of the curtain. Follow the pleats down the panel and tape or tie them together again at the bottom of the curtain.

Step 4: Let it sit for 48 hours

Remove the tape or untie the ribbon after 48 hours and spread out the curtain. Your panel is now "trained" to hang with nicely folded pleats!
