Say hello to our new printed linens, made in Italy from 82% linen and 18% cotton. If you’re curious about all that linen has to offer, note that designers have long loved incorporating linen fabrics into their projects, and below, they’re sharing some of the merits of this material.
It’s Luxurious Yet Practical and Durable
Designers appreciate that linen is elevated looking yet not overly precious. “Linen brings a beautiful texture and a sense of refined luxury, while still feeling relaxed and effortless,” says Melanie Love, the founder of Love and Interiors, who will often incorporate linen draperies into her projects. Emily Davis, the founder of Emily Davis Interiors, is also partial to linen window treatments. “Linen is a classic choice for draperies because of its lightweight nature and textural qualities,” she says. “I know it will give me the best of both worlds—form and function!”
On the note of function, linen is known for its durability, shares Meagan Cooperman, the founder of C&M Interiors, who describes it as “one of the most durable natural fibers available.”
It’s Timeless
Linen is also an excellent choice if you’re looking for a material that will never go out of style, unlike some other fabrics, which are strongly associated with certain periods in time. “Linen draperies are as timeless to me as a crisp white button down,” says Fiona Leonard, the founder of Fiona Leonard Interiors. “I have been designing long enough to remember (and to be guilty of) dense silk drapes that puddled on the floor,” she adds. “I look back at those now and get hives.” By weaving linen textiles into your space, you can rest assured knowing that this design decision will not date your home just a few years down the line.

It’s Versatile
Linen is versatile for a few different reasons. In addition to being “current, effortless and crisp,” linen is a material that complements other patterns and textures nicely, Leonard adds. In addition, linen looks lovely whether used as full drapery panels or as a delicate sheer café curtain, notes Cooperman, which means you can incorporate linen window coverings into living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and more.
