How will my order ship?

All furniture is made-to-order and ships in 6 weeks via Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery. Shipping rates are based on weight and will be calculated at checkout. When you purchase furniture from Pepper Home, you'll have two convenient delivery options to choose from.

  • Threshold Delivery: Your furniture is delivered to the first dry, secure area—such as your front door, garage, or building lobby.

    • Shipping Rate for 0-199 lbs: $150

    • Shipping Rate for 200 lbs+: $200

  • White Glove Service: Includes in-room delivery, professional assembly (if required), and removal of all packaging materials.

    • Shipping Rate for 0-199 lbs: $180

    • Shipping Rate for 200+ lbs: $240

Note that headboards, chairs and benches arrive fully assembled. Beds require light assembly (approximately 20 minutes). Headboard and side rails ship in separate boxes. The customer takes full responsibility for ensuring items fit in their space. Rural and island deliveries have limited routes and delivery times may take longer than usual.

Shipping rates for locations outside the Continental U.S. are based on weight and will appear at checkout. Canadian orders ship via DHL Express.

How do I schedule delivery?

Once your order is ready, you will receive an email, call, or text from our shipping partner to schedule delivery. You will then be notified of a 3-4 hour delivery time window via voice message and text message.

On the day of delivery, you will receive a live tracking link via text. Our team will also call you 30 minutes prior to arrival. If no one answers, they will wait 20 minutes before proceeding to their next stop.

Can I order a swatch before ordering?

Yes! You can order all of our furniture fabric samples here. We ship domestic swatch orders within 3 business days—choose USPS Ground Advantage for $5 or FedEx 2-Day for $12 at checkout.

How do I know if the furniture will fit through my front door?

What are the care instructions?

Spot clean using a a solvent-based cleaner only–never water or water-based products, which can damage the fabric. Always test the cleaner in an inconspicuous spot first. For deeper cleans, we recommend a professional upholstery service familiar with solvent-safe fabrics. Do not attempt deep cleaning at home.

Can I order a fabric that is not listed on the furniture collection page?

You can choose from any fabric within our furniture assortment (explore the full collection here). If there is a fabric that is not listed under a specific product, email hello@pepper-home.com to place your order.

What type of wood is the furniture made out of?

All of our frames are bench made in house to our customer’s specifications using NC kiln-dried maple or engineered hardwood. Read our Behind the Build blog post for more information on the manufacturing process.

What type of foam is used to make the furniture?

Our foam is poured in NC and is CertiPUR-US certified, which means it meets the following quality standards:

  • Made without ozone depleters
  • Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants
  • Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
  • Made without formaldehyde
  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)

The website says free shipping on orders over $300. Does that apply to furniture?

No, free shipping does not apply to furniture.

Are any of the fabrics performance?

While our fabrics are not classified as performance, we carefully curated our assortment to include a variety of options with high rub counts, making them durable enough for everyday use. For high-traffic areas—especially around children and pets—we recommend treating your furniture for added protection. See below for a breakdown of the fabrics we offer as furniture.

Can I add a contrasting welt?

Yes! All of our welt options coordinate with our pillow collection, so it’s easy to mix and match with confidence.

Can I modify an order after it's been placed?

Customers have 24 hours to change/modify an order before it gets sent to manufacturing.

What are the leg color options?

Choose from Flour, Smoke, and Tobacco for a leg finish that complements your decor.

How are the frames constructed?

We use a double layer of engineered hardwood, layered and interlocked for maximum strength. The center is framed to allow for the same kind of strapping and padding typically found in a chair seat, giving you a softer, more comfortable surface to lean against.

Each headboard features 19” high upholstered legs that are built into the structure—not attached separately—adding stability and strength. The space between the legs is intentionally left open to ensure easy access to electrical outlets behind the headboard. This design reduces the overall weight of the headboard by more than 20 pounds and significantly cuts down on lumber waste, resulting in a lower environmental impact and more efficient shipping.

What is the difference between channel and flat faced detail?

Do I need a box spring?

All of our beds are designed to be used with a box spring. Keep in mind that mattress height is personal—consider your preferred bed height and ease of access when making your decision.

Are headboards pre-drilled with holes?

No, legs are not pre-drilled with holes when the headboard is sold separately. Fully upholstered beds do have holes pre-drilled for easy installation. Screws are included in shipment.

Do you have assembly instructions?

Yes, you can find assembly instructions here. You can also watch this video of our co-founder Kelsey walking through the assembly process.

What styles do you offer?

We have two chair styles–Adeline and Dorothy.

Can I add a skirt?

Yes! You can customize the Dorothy chair with a waterfall skirt. The Adeline Chair is available with a kickpleat skirt.

Can I make it a swivel?

The Adeline chair is available as a swivel.

What are the cushions made out of?

Our standard seat cushions are made with a premium spring down-blend—the most comfortable option available. Inside each cushion is a high-grade polyurethane foam “box” filled with individually wrapped coil springs. This is then encased in a plush down-blend ticking bag, delivering multiple layers of comfort, structure, and support.

Before the cushions are added, we install an extra layer of padding to protect against the hardwood frame and springs. This creates a smooth, supportive base that improves comfort and helps prevent fabric wear over time.

What type of springs do you use?

The seat support system, made of drop in coil springs, is carefully installed and secured to the frame. This step is essential to the comfort and longevity of your piece. The springs are positioned, tied, and stabilized to provide even weight distribution and resilient support for years to come.

What styles do you offer?

We have three chair styles–Scarlett, Blaire and Celeste.

Are the benches available in different sizes?

Yes, Blaire and Celeste are available in three sizes–Twin, Queen and King. Scarlett is available in one size. Specific dimensions of each piece are listed under the details section on the product page.
