Table Talk With Hannah Ozburn

Meet Hannah Ozburn! The Charlotte-based interior designer is known for her sophisticated, yet fun interiors that are full of color, texture, and pattern. We're constantly inspired by her designs and love seeing how she styled our Daphne Canary and Cosmo Velvet pillows. Follow along for a peek inside her living room!

First off, tell us a little bit about yourself!

Hi! I am an interior decorator based in Charlotte, NC. My husband, Marc, and I have three young children (Louisa, Fitz, and Ella), so we have our hands full. My love for interiors started at a young age, as my mother was an interior designer. My training is credited to my 6+ years in New York working for Steven Gambrel, who is an absolute design genius.

How would you describe your style? Where do you find inspiration?

I think my style is very much traditional with a twist with focus on color, pattern, and detail. I find so much inspiration from my clients, art, and traveling. My children are constant sources of inspiration as well.

What does your home say about you?

My home definitely says I have three young children, as things are always out of place. There are lots of stains and crumbs, but our house is well loved. It’s always evolving as well, as I constantly am wanting to change and redo things.

Walk us through how you styled Daphne Canary and Cosmo! How did you choose which patterns and piping to use?

I absolutely love my Pepper Home pillows! They are in my living room, so they get a lot of use. I adore the marigold color and bird pattern, so I wanted to pair those with a solid with contrasting piping, which pulls from the pattern. They work very well together in my opinion!

Do you stick to any design "rules" when mixing and matching patterns?

I definitely use a lot of patterns and color, so don’t follow too many rules. I have to remind myself to reign it in and edit sometimes. I think mixing scales of patterns is important for sure.

What are a few ways to refresh your space that don't require a full renovation or splurging on new furniture?

Definitely pillows! I always tell my clients, pillows are an easy and fairly inexpensive way to elevate a room and add a pop of color.
