What is the difference between the wallpaper materials?
Clay Coated: Our standard eco-friendly clay-coated paper has a traditional paper feel and a matte finish to minimize glare. Class A fire-rated, it’s suitable for residential and low-traffic commercial locations. Install it in your bedroom, living room, nursery, home office, you name it!
Removable: This material has a smooth matte finish and contains 100% post-consumer recycled content. The back is coated with a water-activated paste. This user-friendly material is easy to remove without any damage to the wall. Removable wallpaper is sold by the panel and each panel measures 10 feet high and 27 inches wide. The paper arrives pre-trimmed.
Grasscloth: Our natural grasscloth wall coverings add a refined organic feel to any room. Hand-woven by skilled artisans using natural fibers, its smooth and tight weave strikes a lovely balance between natural and refined. Grasscloth looks especially beautiful in traditional and coastal style spaces.
Performance: Our performance wallpaper is up for whatever life throws its way. It balances design with durability, meaning that you don’t have to sacrifice style when shopping this functional pick. With its superior scrub, scratch, and water and stain resistance performance, this ground is suitable for hallways, bathrooms, and playrooms.
What is the fire rating of the wallpaper?
All of our wallpapers are Class A fire-rated based on ASTM-E84 standard testing for smoke generation and flame spread. There are no flame retardants applied to any of our wallpapers.
What is the lead time on a wallpaper order?
Clay coated, removable, performance and patterned grasscloth wallpaper is printed to order and has a 4 week lead time. 2 week rush shipping is available at checkout for an additional $325. Solid grasscloth has a 7 day lead time.
Can you apply the wallpaper to textured walls?
Yes, however, any texture that isn't smoothed out on your wall may show through the wallpaper. For a smoother application and a more polished finish, we suggest applying a primer before installation. Primer helps even out minor imperfections and creates a better surface for the wallpaper to adhere to. We also suggest painting the wall white so dark colored paint doesn't show through.
How do I know how many yards to order?

A standard roll is equivalent to how many yards?
One standard roll is equivalent to 5 yards. A double roll is the same as 10 yards.
**Keep in mind that our Solid Grasscloth wallpaper is sold in 8 yard rolls, 36" wide.
Do you offer custom colors for wallpaper?
Yes! There is a $150 fee for a custom colorway. If you would like a strike-off, there is a 2-3 week lead time plus a fee.

Why does Clay Coated, Performance, and Patterned Grasscloth wallpaper arrive untrimmed?
Most traditional high-end wallpaper arrives untrimmed for a variety of reasons. The selvage area allows the installer to quickly determine the pattern repeat and match by referring to join marks on the paper edge. This allows them to have more control when matching seams. Having an untrimmed roll also prevents the chance of damage during shipping. If an end gets damaged, the paper is protected and you discard the selvage.
Do any wallpaper grounds arrive trimmed?
Yes! No trimming is required for removable wallpaper and solid grasscloth wallpaper.
Do you have wallpaper order minimums?
Yes, clay coated, performance, and patterned grasscloth is sold by the linear yard on a continuous bolt and has a 5 yard order minimum.
Removable wallpaper is sold by the panel and has a 2 panel minimum. Each panel is 10 feet high and 27" wide.
Solid grasscloth wallpaper is sold in 8 yard rolls.
Can I order a swatch before placing an order?
Yes! Head to our wallpaper swatch page to see the colors IRL before you buy. Our wallpaper sample sizes are 8x8; grasscloth sample sizes are 6x6.
Can I return a wallpaper order?
No, print to order items are final sale.
Do your wallpapers have a straight match or a half drop?
All of our wallpapers use a straight match except Gemma, Lulie, Matilda and Ruby. There are tick marks to show your installer how to match the pattern.
Do you offer commercial grade wallpaper?
Our performance wallpaper is a residential alternative to Type II commercial paper. With its superior scrub, scratch and water and stain resistance performance, this ground is suitable for hallways, bathrooms, and playrooms.
Our grasscloth wallpaper is well-suited for both residential applications and low traffic commercial locations away from excessive moisture. It is ASTM-E84 fire rated for commercial applications.

How do you remove your wallpaper?
For Clay coated, performance and grasscloth:

Score with a wallpaper scorer.

Wet with a damp sponge.

Begin to peel from a corner.

Sometimes it comes off in one piece, but sometimes one layer remains adhered to the wall. If that happens, you can wet the remaining layer and peel off again.
For Removable:

Start at the top and gently peel a corner down of the first panel. If you are having trouble removing the panel, use a damp sponge to apply water to the surface of the wallpaper.

Carefully continue pulling down the material until the entire panel is off the wall. Repeat for all panels.

Wipe away any leftover adhesive on the wall with a damp sponge.
Do you offer peel and stick wallpaper?
We offer removable wallpaper, not peel and stick. The back is coated with a water-activated paste for a simpler installation. This user-friendly material is easy to remove without any damage to the wall.
What is the width of the wallpaper?
Clay Coated wallpaper is 27" wide when trimmed (arrives untrimmed).
Is the wallpaper washable?
Clean gently using a soft, non-abrasive sponge and a mixture of mild soap and water. Always test in an inconspicuous area first. Avoid abrasive tools or chemical cleaners–these can damage the finish or cause discoloration by interacting with the ink.
Is the wallpaper bathroom friendly?
Clay coated wallpaper may be used in ventilated bathrooms—even ones with showers and tubs. To assure the quality of the wallpaper is maintained, we recommend that it is not placed in splash zones (e.g. inside the shower).
Is the wallpaper pre-pasted?
No, our clay coated wallpaper is not pre-pasted. We recommend applying a clear premixed adhesive to the back of the paper. You can find detailed hanging instructions here.
Is the wallpaper eco-friendly?

Yes! We would be happy to print any pattern on a different ground. There is no conversion fee but please allow an extra week for design (5 week total lead time). If you would like a strike-off, there is a 2-3 week lead time plus a fee.

Does the wallpaper require paste or is it a sticker?
Our removable wallpaper is NOT a sticker. The wallpaper is pre-pasted requiring only water to activate the adhesive. This user-friendly material is easy to remove without any damage to the wall.

Is the wallpaper bathroom friendly?

Is the wallpaper bathroom friendly?
We do not recommend grasscloth for powder rooms or bathrooms with a shower or tub. Additionally, we do not recommend installing grasscloth near a sink or toilet–prolonged contact with moisture can cause the natural vegetable dyes to bleed or stain.
Does direct sunlight affect grasscloth?
Yes, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can affect the natural vegetable dyes used on our grasscloth. We recommend using window treatments to protect the grasscloth from too much sun exposure.
Should the seams be visible on solid grasscloth?
Yes! The hand-crafted nature of the paper means that no two panels are exactly the same. The unique variations in texture, weave, and color is part of the charm of grasscloth.
Is the wallpaper pre-pasted?
No, our grasscloth wallpaper is not pre-pasted. We recommend applying a clear premixed adhesive to the back of the paper.
Is the wallpaper eco-friendly?
Our eco-friendly grasscloth wallpaper is colored with water-based vegetable dyes and hand-woven by skilled artisans using natural fibers. All of our wallpapers are PVC free.
