Measuring

Calculate your dimensions with our Calculator; for more guidance, see our Measurement Guide

Inside Mount:

  • Requires a minimum of 1.5" window depth.
  • Measure the distance between the inner edges of the window frame. We will subtract 1/2" from the width provided to ensure proper side clearance.

Outside Mount:

  • Requires 2" of flat mounting space above the window molding. If your molding is thicker or protrudes from the wall, we recommend allowing 3-4".
  • For extra light coverage, we suggest measuring to 2" below the sill.

Measuring by shade style:

  • Classic / knife pleat: height = longest point
  • Scallop shade/valance: height = long point of scallop
  • Relaxed shade: height = short point on the sides

Care

Steaming the Shade:

Like any fabric piece, your new Pepper Home Roman shade may have a few wrinkles out of the box. Most will relax naturally within a few days, but for the best results, we recommend gently steaming after installation.

Dressing the Shade:

The beauty of a fabric shade lies in its pleats. When new, pleats may fold unevenly—simply adjust them after raising the shade. Over time, the fabric will “learn” how to hang properly, requiring little to no adjustment.

Regular Care:

It is recommended that fabric Roman shades be vacuumed periodically with a drapery hose attachment. Professional cleaning is recommended.

    Flat Shades are available with all trim styles. For 2" banded options, a 2.5" inset from the edge is standard on all sides and the bottom. Pom poms, tassels, and rick rack are finished along the bottom.

    Knife Pleat Shades are available exclusively in our solid fabrics. Pom poms and tassels are applied along the bottom edge.

    Relaxed

    With its gently curved silhouette, this classic Roman Shade offers an easy, polished aesthetic. Best suited as a decorative statement rather than a daily-use shade.

    DETAILS
    The Relaxed shade length is measured at the sides (the shortest point). The center of the shade will hang 2–4" longer than the side length, depending on size and material. Shades with 2" bands include a standard 2.5" inset from the edge on two sides. Pom poms and tassels are applied along the bottom edge.

    For orders with multiple shades, patterns are top-aligned for a cohesive look.

    Scalloped

    Our scalloped shade features a softly curved edge that adds refined detail with a subtle touch of whimsy.

    DETAILS
    Shade length is measured to the bottom of the scallop (the longest point). Scallop width ranges from 6"–8.33" (averaging 7"), depending on the overall width of the shade. Scallop height is 1". Pom poms and tassels are applied along the bottom edge.

    For orders with multiple shades, patterns are top-aligned for a cohesive look.

    This product is well made and I love the color. However, it is overpriced. For this price point the backing should be more substantial. And note, they ask for window measurements. If you dont add to the length, so that the shade naturally gathers as a roman shade should, while resting in a window ledge, they don’t add length. I have an almost 800$ shade that asthetically does not gice the appearance of being a roman shade. Its a flat block of material.

    Love of a shade

    This shade has created a beautiful nook at the bottom of our stair way. Paired with a potted plant and a few hand stiched pictures it is the perfect spot for the dog to watch the walking path.
