First off, tell us a little about yourself!

Hi, I’m April, a lifestyle blogger and the editor of Apriljwagner.com which serves as an outlet for creativity and inspiration. This daily blog focuses on fashion and beauty as well as home and travel. My goal is to empower and give confidence to the every day woman.

I currently reside in the Bay Area of California with my husband, Neil, and our four adorable children. When I am not chasing after them, I spend my time teaching ballet at my studio, enjoying the occasional date night with the hubby, and doing some serious DIY Home projects! Blogging became a passion of mine about 8 years ago due to some serious medical issues. What started out as an online diary to vent my anxiety and frustrations, made me quickly realized how much I loved writing and helping people. It quickly turned into a creative outlet for me where I began to share my fashion, home and everything in between.

What was your design vision for your bedroom?

The beach is my absolute happy place. I think that stems from growing up visiting Long Beach Island with my family every Summer! I carry that coastal theme throughout my home. I wanted my primary bedroom to feel sophisticated, yet casual, colorful and cozy!

What drew you to our Sky Velvet curtain?

I LOVE the color blue and the Sky Velvet matched perfectly with the colors I wanted to bring into the space. I also liked the idea of elevating my casual style with velvet!

How did you choose what curtain length was right for your space?

We have 9 foot ceilings and I like to install curtain rods about 2 inches from there. It helps raise the eye and make the ceilings look even higher which also then makes the room feel bigger.

We love everything about this room! Can you tell us a little about the other design choices in the space?

My gorgeous headboard came from The Inside. The bedding was a mix between Serena & Lily and Boll and Branch. Night stands and dresser were found on WayFair and the rug was a super steal on Overstock. My bench and cart are also from Serena & Lily. I collect vintage Vogue Magazine covers and have those framed through my primary bedroom and bathroom. The print above my bed is the fabulous Gray Malin.
